Guttering
Some guttering products do not provide for adequate capacity and can cause overflows in heavy rainstorms. If this happens frequently it can have a serious effect on the brickwork of the property and can result in internal dampness. Inside Out use Marshall Tufflex products which have a high-volume water channel.
It is also essential to fit guttering with a sufficient gradient to allow the rainwater to flow freely into the downpipes, and to fix the guttering with an adequate number of brackets to ensure that no sagging occurs. We also recommend the installation of a gutter guard, which is a clip-in grid that prevents the gutters filling with leaves, and is especially important if the property is close to tall trees. Leaves blocking the running outlets are the most common cause of overflowing guttering.
Gutter and downpipe products are available in white, black, brown and grey and in both and square profiles. There is even a "cast iron" effect which is extremely attractive on older Victorian style properties.
Cladding
Properties with external wooden cladding that is well maintained can look very attractive but when the paint or varnish begins to crack and peel the property can look extremely unkempt. Replacing the cladding with uPVC tongue-and- groove or shiplap boarding will enhance the appearance of the property instantly. Fitting by properly experienced staff is essential for a trouble-free installation.
