Fascias and soffits Installation in High Wycombe

Fascias

Fascias can greatly affect the overall look of a property.  Unfortunately, wooden fascias are often difficult to clean and paint as they are obstructed by guttering and rainwater pipes.   Installing uPVC fascias will instantly transform the appearance of a property.  With a wide range of colours to choose from it is easy to find one that will match, contrast with or complement the style of the property.

Inside Out only use superior products.  We specifically reject providing inferior quality plastic simply to offer a cheaper quotation.  All the products we use have a 10 year manufacturer's warranty, which we consider to be essential.

There are two methods used for uPVC fascias.  If the existing timber is sound it can be "capped", which means attaching 9mm uPVC board over the top of the timber and securing with special 50mm polytop self-coloured ring nails.  This would of course still involve taking down and refitting the guttering.  Alternatively, if the existing timber is rotting or warped, it is recommended that it be removed and replaced with 18mm uPVC fascia boards.

Our specialist staff will provide you with unbiased advice and offer alternative pricings.

Soffits

Soffits (soffit boards) are fitted between the wall of the property and the bottom lip of the fascia board, providing a neat and attractive appearance.  As with the fascias they come in a variety of colours.

The most commonly used soffit board has a "tongue-and-groove" effect.  This board is fitted with the "groove" running from the lip of the fascia in toward the wall.  The use of this type of board enables the fitter to follow features of the building, giving a close-fitted appearance without unsightly gaps.  You can see the effect from the photographs in our gallery.

When replacing soffit boards, we recommend an over-fascia ventilation system.  This enables free-flow of fresh air between the rafters and helps to prevent rot occurring.

It is not possible to instal over-fascia ventilation when existing fascia is capped.  To provide ventilation, we can cut circular holes at intervals along the length of the soffit boards and install plastic ventilation discs.  This will allow air circulation to the rafters.
